The Dresden Fire Department is an all Paid on Call department and has a staff of 28 members. Eleven members are certified with the State in several areas including Firefighter 1 and Firefighter 2. There are 6 first responders who work through the license of the Weakley County Ambulance Board. Any time there is a medical need in our town there first responders are paged out to assist in their own vehicles.
The department has around 65 fire alarms per year. Dresden firemen cover an area around 14 square miles within the town and surrounding county. The Department has a mutual aid agreement with area towns where help of our department is given and where we need help we have 9 other towns around us that will help if called.

There are 3 members who have had training in hazardous materials and 9 members who are certified in vehicle extracation. The fire department is a work in progress and in the next few years we are hoping to have another and larger building where we can continue to grow with the community.
